Info: Swim Team Opportunities
Dear Barracuda Families,
It's Thursday, there SHOULD BE a swim meet tonight! While we're all bummed that the team is out of the pool this summer, we want you to be aware of year-round competitive swim opportunities available in Cherokee County that you may want to explore. There's the Marietta Marlins and the Stingrays that train at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center. And there is Chattahoochee Gold that trains at the Woodstock Aquatic Center. There are several Barracudas that also swim for Chattahoochee Gold. This week, Gold reached out to us and we wanted to share their message with you:

This year we are giving everyone the option to join Chattahoochee Gold remotely, without leaving your house or neighborhood. Depending on Covid restrictions, we hope to offer in-person evaluations later in the summer. For now, for online evaluations here is what each interested swimmer needs to provide…

- One length of the pool swimming Freestyle & Backstroke. Even a short pool is fine - no worries.
- Five strokes of Breaststroke and Butterfly if the swimmer swims them already. Not required.
Don’t worry too much about the distance of these swims in the video. Short is ok. Remind the swimmers that we are not judging them based on how fast they go! We just want to see their current technique level and potential. Expect to hear back from us in one or two business days. We will walk you through practice times, costs, and any other questions you have at that time.
