Important 2021 Barracuda INFO
Good Morning Barracuda Families!
We have MANY new families on our team this year & wanted to go over more information to help everyone have a terrific season.
1. SWIMTOPIA -
Once you have signed up & registered your swimmer - Please utilize our SWIMTOPIA site. This site will have the answers to all of your questions...info about practices, dive certifications, where to buy our team suit, addresses, etc.
2. ALL AMERICAN SWIM -
This is where you all need to go to purchase your TEAM SUIT for this season. Please do not go off on your own & buy a "similar suit" We have worked very hard with our vendors for a great suit at an inexpensive price. No team suit - no swimming.
3. DIVE CERTIFICATIONS -
Please refer to our Swimtopia site & review under the Dive Certification tab. These must be completed before our first meet. Please contact Sheila if you have any questions about dive cert: sheilaz@mac.com
4. SWIM PRACTICES vs LESSONS -
This is a tough one parents. Please remember that our swim team practices ARE NOT the same as SWIM LESSONS. Yes - the kids will all be working on the 4 strokes at all times this summer. We understand that some swimmers will not know these strokes at all. But please remember that if your swimmer is falling behind in practices - they might need actual SWIM LESSONS (extra help -just like in any other sport). Many of our coaches will be offering private or group lessons after swim team practices. They will be either at the Bradshaw Farm pools or at their private residence pools after 11am. Info will be on SWIMTOPIA soon.
5. THE LITTLES (aka 6 & under swimmers) -
ASA & COVID have really changed how many littles we have on our team right now. Our coaches CANNOT get into the water during meets & help them along as they have in the past. So with that being said - PLEASE make sure your young swimmer can swim ONE ENTIRE LAP across the pool WITHOUT any assistance (from the floor, wall or coach). For anyone not sure where their swimmer is - we can discuss further. Yes - we will offer a full refund for a swimmer who might not be quite ready this summer.
That is it for now. PLEASE READ OUR SWIMTOPIA SITE.
We will be sending out more information as soon as we know it. We did have a Zoom call with ASA about rules for this summer but I need to get with our HOA board now.
Just remember this Barracudas - it might be a different season than what we are normally used to but we have to start somewhere. We are just in March. A lot of things can & will change by May. So get your team suits, get your dive certs done & GET READY to swim & have a great time.
See you all soon at the pool!
Megan & Sarah
