VERY IMPORTANT - RULE CHANGES
Good Evening Barracuda Families!
Get ready...this email is packed with tons of info. Grab a drink & sit down. Please read this thoroughly before emailing me with any questions. We have A LOT of new families this summer & I want it to be an easy transition for all.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT OUR REGISTRATION IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED. We full!
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS:
As of tomorrow morning our required volunteer shifts will be open to everyone to sign up. Obviously this excludes those who have paid the OPT OUT FEE.
This summer we are requiring that every family signs up for *4 SHIFTS as of now. The last (5th) shift may be added during our last meet. So for now please only sign up for FOUR SHIFTS PER FAMILY.
LEAD VOLUNTEER:
We are looking for an additional LEAD CONCESSION person. This position will consist of creating the menu of what items will be sold at each HOME MEET. (This summer ALL five meets will be home meets). You will help purchase & pick up all foods to be sold (Costco, Sam's,etc) & organize what foods will be sold from our specific food sponsors. (nothing will be at your expense). You would be responsible for working at the concession table at each meet as well. You will be working with another concession lead who will help train you for this volunteer position. A lead position is entitled to one free swimmer on our team. Therefore - if you have already paid for your swimmer - we will issue you a refund. Please email me asap if you are interested.
PRACTICES:
We sent out the schedule for all of our practice times. Weather will always determine if we have practice or not. We will email or text for any cancellations. Parents - please DO NOT drop your swimmers off & go run errands. Please stay close or have a back up driver. Remember - we cannot be responsible for what happens outside of our pool deck area. Please be mindful of bringing up your pets to the pool area also. There are children with allergies. As we all know - this season will not be like any other season we have ever experienced. So please be patient & courteous for others around you. Parents, siblings, babysitters, etc will be able to hang out & watch practices outside the fence. We are also asking that this season - swimmers need to practice in their specific age group only. Practices are not mandatory so if you miss a practice...no problem. If your child has a camp one week - again its completely fine. We do not take attendance.
We do practice on days of our meets (mostly Thursdays & a few Tuesdays). We normally ask that you have your swimmer take it easy on meet days. We will be sending out emails about what to do on MEET DAYS & how to sign up for them at a later date.
BATHING SUITS:
You all know you need our team suit for our meets. They are welcome to wear it during practices but it is not required at all. We do ask that you send your swimmer in an appropriate fitting suit (please no bikinis), goggles, shoes & a towel. We will have swim caps for sale for whomever might need one or you can use your own.
SWIMMING LESSONS:
If anyone is interested in signing your child up for swim lessons...please go to our SWIMTOPIA HOME PAGE & under the 2021 COACHES TAB. There you will see a bio for each one of our coaches with their contact information. You will set up lessons with whichever coach you choose. Lessons are through each coach not the swim team. All lessons will take place after any swim team practices.
COVID WAIVER:
We will be emailing out an online COVID waiver for each family to sign per the Bradshaw Farm HOA very soon. Every family must sign this waiver before our season starts (as was mentioned in registration).
PARKING FOR MEETS:
Parking this JUNE at Bradshaw will be very tricky. Tennis & Golf Tourneys will be going on Thursdays as well. So I am asking everyone in advance...carpool, get dropped off, run, walk, hitchhike, piggy back, whatever it takes...but we will get through this. Just wanted everyone to know in advance - it will be crowded.
***RULE CHANGES***:
I thought I'd save the best for last. We had another meeting with the Bradshaw Farm HOA. I told you all to hang in there & we finally have some changes.
We no longer have to take temperatures.
We no longer have to sit 6ft apart.
We can have more people on deck during the meets - still to be determined.
We are now told that MASKS ARE 100% OPTIONAL!
But I am asking you all to please respect others around you. We are not fully free to do whatever we want at the pool like normal...but this is a HUGE improvement for all of us in June at the pool.
So please email me if you have any questions or concerns. Our MAIN PRIORITY is for ALL of our swimmers to be SAFE at all times. Then it is to have FUN. I think our amazing group of coaches & volunteers will make this happen this summer.
So please make sure to:
*sign up for your volunteer shifts tomorrow
*get your swimmer dive certified
*write down your swimmers practice & meets dates/times
*have their team suit ready to go for pictures Tuesday May 18th
*grab some goggles
*get ready for your child to have a terrific six weeks of swimming
See you all at the pool! Go 'Cudas!
