Attention Barracuda State Qualifiers...

We are SO proud of you! Congratulations on a GREAT meet yesterday!

The county tells us that they are sending an email to all swimmers who qualified for the state meet sometime today...but being the "newsy" ones that we are, we thought we would send you what we know thus far to give you a "heads up"..

Lots of info so we suggest you print this email out and go thru it carefully :)

Our very own, Jonny Balchus, will be your State Coach and he would LOVE to see you at as many state practices as possible! These practices will be held every weekday starting tomorrow (Monday, 7/14) at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center. Times will be 7 -10 year olds 8:30-9:30am and 11 and ups 9:30-10:30am. We will let you know when "special" practices are that you should be sure to attend as soon as we know (Newspaper picture day and Cherokee State Team party - tentatively set for evening of 7/23).

In addition, we know that the state meet will be held at the Cumming Aquatic Center on Friday, 7/25 (for 10 and unders) and Saturday, 7/26 (for 11 and ups)..This is a Prelims-Finals Meet... meaning if your child finishes in the top 10 (8 lanes of finals plus 2 alternates), they will swim at Finals later in the day .. times are as follows:

10 and unders:

Friday morning: Warm up 7:00 am & Start 9:00 am
Friday evening: Warm up 2:45 pm & Start 4:00 pm

11 and ups:

Saturday morning: Warm up 7:00 am & Start 9:00 am
Saturday evening: Warm up 2:45 pm & Start 4:00 pm

A State Meet welcome party will be held on Thursday, July 24th, 2014 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Outdoor Leisure Pool of the Cumming Aquatic Center. Families attending the state meet will be able to purchase t-shirts, towels, and swim gear. Dinner will be catered by Jim & Nick’s BBQ (no charge to swimmers & their families).
