VERY Important info for next week!!

    Good morning Barracudas,

As the final days of school comes to a close, and the excitement of summer is pulsing through our veins, we wanted to take some time to review our favorite part of Bradshaw Farm Swim Team-- THE MEETS!! Please pay close attention to all aspects of this email, and please feel free to contact Sarah or Jennifer with any questions, comments, or concerns 😊

    SIGNING IN FOR THE MEET:

Swimmers need to be marked as either attending OR absent in SwimTopia for each upcoming meet by SUNDAY @ 4PM prior to the meet. Heatsheets are a very time consuming process with a team our size, and unfortunately we cannot add anymore swimmers to that weeks meet beyond Sunday! I know this sounds tough, BUT an easy solution would be to go ahead and declare which meets you will be at (or away) and not have to worry about it! Again, swimmers have to be marked as ATTENDING or ABSENT for the meet by SUNDAY May 28th, June 4th, June 11th, June 18, and June 25th by 4 PM if you would like your swimmer to be apart of the fun!

    SIGNING UP FOR EVENTS:

Barracudas have the ability to select which events they would like to swim; however, this is only a request, not a final selection. By the end of the season we will do our best to have every swimmer swim their desired events, and swimtopia is a great tool to help that! Please note that this is only a request from the swimmer (or parent), but we will have the final say as to which events your Barracuda will be swimming! These requests have to be submitted by SUNDAY @ 4 PM prior to the meet or your child will not swim.

    FUN MEET:

This intersquad meet is a FUN way for our Barracudas to practice what we have been going over during practice (before our first official meet against Eagle Watch)! Please make sure to sign up for this meet as it gives us a chance to better prepare YOU and your Barracuda for the first meet! You all are able to see how the bullpen, starting blocks, relays, concession stand, individual events, volunteer positions, and DJ all come together to make an awesome start to summer! Think of this like a dress rehersal for the big show-- WE NEED YOU ALL THERE!

**If your Barracuda would like to try Breast Stroke or Butterfly, please sign them up for those events! Everyone will at ast be swimming Freestyle, Backstroke, and a relay. We will have DQ judges at the meet to let us know what we need to work on/correct the week of June 5th**

    DAY OF MEET:

You will be receiving an email from us with a heatsheet housing your Barracudas events! Please make sure that you write down your child's events (E), heat (H), and lane (L). Please review photo at this link, and it's in alphabetical order :-)
    *** Marking arms info: https://bradshawfarm.swimtopia.com/meet-info

Meets are chaotic to some Barracudas, and having it on your arm is an easy reminder to reference during the meet! ALSO, for those Barracudas who are below the age of 11, we ask that you write your children's name on their right shoulder to help our volunteers shepherd your Barracudas to the starting blocks! Make sure to invest in a Sharpie-- you won't regret it!

    WHAT TO BRING TO MEETS:

Barracudas like to party at our meets, so make sure to bring your team suit, goggles, several towels, something to sit on, and an extra pair of goggles for those particular Barracudas who forget where they put things. A swim bag is useful as well. Meets allow all of our Barracudas to show off their techniques, work together, and most importantly HAVE SOME FUN!

    PRACTICES:

As a reminder, morning practices will be starting on TUESDAY, May 30th! The practice times are as follows: PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE IN AGE GROUPS

    6 & unders: (8:00-8:45)

    7-8: (8:45-9:30)

    9-10: (9:30-10:15)

    11& up: (10:15-11)

We hope you all enjoy the remainder of the week, and cannot wait until our FUN MEET next week! Again, please make sure to sign up for the meet by SUNDAY @ 4 PM!

    Thank you,

    Barracudas Coaching Staff
