2017 Relay Meet
Hey Barracudas!
I meant to send this last night but fell asleep in the middle of typing it! Just wanted to update you on relay meet and hope you are ready for the Town Lake Hills meet!
There was a 6 point differential, we were down, in the score at the end of the meet but while discussing things with the Woodmont folks, we all were concerned with the way the officiating was going ( they actually changed their official in the middle of the meet).regarding both officials agreeing on things (except our official is awesome - always watching the pool and being fair towards all swimmers- thank you Christina Dagostino)! Woodmont and Bradshaw hold the same opinion in that we do this for the swimmers and want to make it as fair as possible! They said many of their swimmers and parents wanted a make up meet and, when I suggested this type of meet, I thought it would be shorter, It was an experiment that Woodmont agreed to and wholeheartedly wanted to try out. It was one of those learning situations that we will present at our CSSA Board meeting and will tweak to meet the needs of the league and swimmers.
I thought the meet was a lot of fun but certainly there's room for improvement and we will take everything into consideration. Because this was a new situation, we decided to call it a tie. We had already deemed it a tie after the 3 events last Thursday so it was an appropriate solution.
Thank you to everyone for all of your patience, efforts, volunteering, and giving up your time as I know 2 meets in one week makes for a very busy time in everyone's already busy schedule. One more meet and then a banquet which is always a wonderful event...and then the season is done!
A special thanks to our coordinators who put a tremendous amount of time into organizing the team and I'm grateful they put up with my ideas and schemes! None of this season could take place without them!
Go Cudas!
